Boherbue V Knocknagree/Ballydesmond in Knocknagree 4th April 2009
Final score 07-22 to 01-02
A very one sided affair, we were at our leisure throughout.. We lead by 3-18 to no score at half time. We threw on all 7 subs in the second half..

Boherbue V Croke Rovers in Boherbue 11th May 2009
Final score 06-13 to 02-00
Another disappointing contest. When the match started it appeared that we might get a game but as the half wore on we kept scoring and they had no response other than getting a soft goal before half time. The score at the break was 3-08 to 1-00.
We began the second half as we finished the first and started making changes after 10 mins playing 5 subs.

Boherbue V Kilshannig in Kilshannig 25th May 2009
Final score 05-15 to 01-03
We are in the middle of a bad run of games, another easy victory. We began the game very strongly and scored 2-02 without reply. They were not that bad, we had to work hard for our scores but they kept coming. Our forwards and midfield played well throughout but our backs were hit and miss and not as reliable as we would like. Made quiet a few unforced errors. Saying that what would one expect to get from a game like this, we won it very convincingly in the end, without Kevin Cremin and David O’Keeffe (both injured).

Boherbue V Millstreet in Millstreet 8th June 2009
Final score 01-26 to 01-02.
We began the game without Tadhg Walsh (gaeltacht) and we were missing subs Daniel Moynihan, Shane O’Flynn and Kenneth Lawton. The proverbial game of two halves, it started off in a nip and tuck fashion, we went into a 4 points to one lead after 10 minutes but Millstreet struck back with a goal to level scores. We lost Denis O’Sullivan after 20 mins (ankle). We were the better team throughout the first half but Millstreet made life difficult for us by playing their full forward as a third mid-fielder. He was able to create the extra man for their kick out and carried a lot of ball out of their defence. As the half went on we began to exert a greater influence on the game and went in at half time leading by 11 points to 1-01.
We lost Alan Cremin at half time (hamstring). We addressed our shortcomings at half time and began the second half in dramatic fashion by scoring six unanswered points in the first 5 minutes, we wiped out their extra man for the kick out with clever play and the game was effectively over when we scored our only goal. We ran out easy winners in the end.

Boherbue V Dromtariffe in Rathcoole 14th June 2009
Final score 05-13 to 02-04
Dromtariffe started well and scored directly from the throw in. As usual they were much bigger around the field than we were used to. They tried pulling our central players out of position by adopting a third mid fielder but we held our shape and took control after 20 mins, we score four quick goals in the first half, (two of which were very lucky) . Our forwards did very well again, particularly Richard, Jimmy and Adrian. Mid field were also in control. We lead at half time 4-07 to 1-02. Dromtariffe made a lot of positional changes at half time and this improved their play greatly. Dromtariffe enjoyed more possession in the second half but the game was over at this stage.
Two notes of concern: The number of wides we had from point scoring opportunities (bad misses) and the way we allowed our forwards to become bunched in the second half.

Boherbue V Millstreet in Boherbue, Semi Final 13th July 2009
Final score 04-26 to 00-01
We were way too strong for Millstreet and took over immediately after the throw in. Missing both Alan Cremin and Timothy Murphy didn’t effect us in any way. We lead at half time by 1-17 to 0-00.
We began the second half in much the same way and Millstreet had to resort to bringing all of their half forward line in to their back line to win a kick our. Even at that, they still had huge difficulty getting the ball beyond half way.

Duhallow Final
Boherbue V Dromtariffe Thursday 16th July 2009
Final score 06-16 to 02-07
We were well prepared for this game and played very well even though we without both Alan Cremin (holidays) and Timothy Murphy (injury). Dromtariffe were up for the game, as we expected. They started very strongly by using their corner forward as a third midfielder, Daniel Moynihan was the corner back expected to travel and mark the third midfielder but instead of expecting him to play mid field we instead put Stephen Ahern on him, this worked a treat and Stephen had a blinder for the hour.
It took us a while to come to grips with them but Billy’s goal after 20 mins helped settle us in to a 1-06 to 0-04 lead. Two other first half goals from Kevin Cremin gave us a lead of 3-07 to 0-04.
Dromtariffe began the second half in typical fashion and had two goals netted in the first three minutes and only an excellent save by Daniel Murphy and a fantastic block by Denis O’Sullivan stopped the getting a third in the 4th minute. That was the wake up call that was required, we responded by scoring three quick points and Kevin Cremin netted his third goal to give him a total of 3-03 for the outing.
We upped our game and took over in all areas of the field by it was very tough up until the very end.

Boherbue V Midleton, in Boherbue, 15th August 2009.
1st Round of “A” County

Final score 09-14 to 02-04.
Our first venture into A grade football got off to a winning start with a very comprehensive win over Midleton. We had a full squad but we suspect the Midleton were short at least 1 very good player. We won the toss and elected to play with a blustery wind. Our first three score were goals, scored in the first 5 minutes and this set the tone for the game. We went in at half time leading 4-10 to 0-01.
The second half began in much the same fashion as the first, Midleton tried to play more football but we were way too strong for them. They were rewarded with a few scores in the second half.

Boherbue V Ballincollig in Mallow, 27th August 2009.
County Semi Final.

Final score 02-14 to 05-04.
A very tough game, we earned our victory. We got off to a great start and kicked a point straight from the throw in. We lead all through the first half but each time we carved out a lead we gave away soft goals. We were leading by 0-10 to 2-01 heading for half time, we knew we needed a goal as we were playing with the aid of a blustery wind. Andrew O’Connor obliged and we went in at half time leading by 1-10 to 2-01.
We began the second half as we finished the first by scoring a goal and a point to lead by 10 points. The wheels then came off the wagon and we conceded three disastrously soft goals in 8 minutes, they had 5 huge men and they used them to great effect by pumping high ball in to them, we actually surrendered our lead and actually fell behind by a point 5-04 to 2-12. But this team has been on the road a long time and they did not panic and we kicked two points in the last couple of minutes to restore our lead and eventually win by the narrowest of margins. We are playing at a completely different level now and players who usually cruise through games struggled for long periods tonight, but we survived!

Boherbue V Bantry in Coachford, 5th September 2009.
County Final.

Final score 02-10 to 01-04
The game began at a very fast pace with both defences on top, we lost the toss and Bantry elected to play with the aid of a strong breeze. It was a very tough and physical first half with very little coming in the way of scores. We kicked at least 8 wides in the first half and would have been in trouble at half time only for two outstanding saves by Daniel Murphy, the first was a point blank save where he closed down the Bantry player, the second was a fantastic reaction save after the ball cannoned off a Boherbue player and was heading for the bottom corner, Daniel somehow got his fingertips to it and turned around the post for a 45, another superb goal line clearance by David O’Keeffe kept us in the game up until half time. We played well in the first half and we appeared to be winning all the key battles. The half time score was 0-02 to 0-01 in our favour. Tadhg Walsh opened our account with a well taken point from play, only for Bantry to draw level with a placed ball 5 minutes later. Three minutes later Kevin Cremin made a break and kicked a very good point from the 21.
Our full back line played very well from the off with Alan Cremin producing a fantastic performance over the hour and ably supported by both Alan O’Sullivan, solid as ever at full back and Denis O’Sullivan in complete control in the opposite corner.
The half back line was lead by Daniel Buckley who gave an example of how to control a game from centre back, Timothy Murphy had the game of his life at wing back as did the excellent David O’Keeffe who’s timely goalmouth intervention kept us in the game.
Our midfield were in control throughout and again provided the springboard for all our scores with the partnership of Billy O’Gorman and captain Kevin Cremin scoring 02-03 between them. Jimmy Herlihy was outstanding at centre forward with most of the play going through him, on the wings operated both Adrian Murphy and Stephen Ahern who’s exploits in upsetting the opposition kick out earned them a few priceless comments from the opposition line.
The full forward line was made up of Tadhg Walsh who as usual gave his marker a torrid hour, in the corners were Richard Moynihan and Andrew O’Connor, both of whom played exceptionally well and who’s names that will feature in many future reports in the future.
We began the second half with the help of the breeze and over the opening 10 minutes scored 3 unanswered points before we changed tactics a little for a free from the 45, we put the big men in around the square and lobbed the ball in. It worked like a dream; Billy O’Gorman got a fist to it and sent it to the net. We were in complete control at this point and followed up with points from Andrew O’Connor (one a fantastic volley that wouldn’t look out of place in the Premiership) and Tadhg Walsh before Kevin Cremin added the icing to the cake with another superb goal.
Bantry rallied briefly scoring 3 points from frees and a well taken goal. Kevin and Billy each scored another point to leave the final score at 2:10 to 1:04. We were much the better team and deserved our victory and we look forward with great anticipation to playing with the big guns in two years time, when for the first time a Boherbue team will take to the field in the Premier grade.

The team on this historic occasion lined out as follows:
1 Daniel Murphy, 2 Alan Cremin, 3 Alan O’Sullivan, 4 Denis O’Sullivan, 5 David O’Keeffe, 6 Daniel Buckley, 7 Timothy Murphy, 8 Kevin Cremin (Capt.) 9 Billy O’Gorman, 10 Stephen Ahern, 11 Jimmy Herlihy, 12 Adrian Murphy, 13 Andrew O’Connor, 14 Tadhg Walsh, 15 Richard Moynihan, 17 Daniel Moynihan (for Denis O’Sullivan), 18 Kenneth Lawton (for Richard Moynihan), 21 Bryan Herlihy (for Tadhg Walsh), 19 Eddie Kiely, 20 Andreas O’Connor, 22 David O’Connor, 23 Ross O’Connor, 24 Timothy Murphy, 25 Peter Murphy, 26 John Paul Breen, 27 Nathan O’Sullivan.

Scores:
Kevin Cremin 01-02, Billy O’Gorman 01-01, Jimmy Herlihy 00-01, Andrew O’Connor 00-03, Tadhg Walsh 00-02, Kenneth Lawton 00-01.
